Assistant Coach Brad Camp
Brad Camp joined the Yale men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in March 2025.
Camp was the Head Coach and Director of Soccer at Colorado Christian University from 2019-25, guiding the Cougars from a 1-17 record to a 10-5-1 mark in just three years at the helm. He ushered in the most successful era in program history, leading CGU to its first back-to-back winning season, its first RMAC Tournament qualification, and first win over Regis University in 20 years. In 2021, Camp coached the Cougars to the their highest win total in school history. During his tenure at CGU, he coached 14 all-conference players.
Prior to CGU, Camp served as the assistant coach at East Tennessee State for two seasons, during which he won a regular season conference championship. Camp also proved successful in the USL2 ranks as a head coach. In the Summer of 2022, he led the Flatirons to a 7-3-2 record and a trip to the national tournament.
Camp holds national B, C, D, E and Youth licenses in coaching education from the U.S. Soccer Federation. He also has goalkeeper level I and II licenses and Director of Coaching diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches. Camp was an assistant coach at Maryville College as well as the Head Coach for the Knoxville Force of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). He also received accolades in the youth game serving as a Director of Coaching at FC Alliance, Region III Staff coach in the Olympic Development Program, and countless other roles.
Camp played collegiate soccer at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) where he manned the left back position. During his senior campaign he was named a TranSouth Conference Scholar-Athlete. Camp graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Trevecca Nazarene in 2010. He holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Middle Tennessee State University in that field of study as well; earning them in 2012 and 2015, respectively.
Nick Taljan
Assistant Coach
Nick Taljan joined the Yale men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in April 2025.
Prior to Yale, Taljan served as an assistant men's soccer coach at Kenyon College from 2023-25. While at Kenyon, Taljan led training sessions, film analysis, and scout presentations. He also played a significant role in recruiting for one of the most successful Division III programs in the nation. Taljan helped lead the Owls to a 29-7-6 record, culminating in two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 berth in 2024. In 2023, Taljan and the Kenyon coaches were awarded Staff of the Year by the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).
Taljan worked for three seasons as the assistant coach and video coordinator for Division III Baldwin Wallace University. With the Yellow Jackets, Taljan assisted in recruiting student-athletes, developing training plans, scouting opponents, and creating game models to exploit opponents’ weaknesses. In his final season, BWU posted an 11-6-2 record.
Taljan also has experience as an assistant coach and film analyst with the Cleveland Force Soccer Club, an organization working with youths through pre-professional players. He started coaching with Cleveland Force SC in 2018 and took on additional roles in 2022.
Before getting into coaching, Taljan was a member of the Bellarmine University men’s soccer team before transferring to Cleveland State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2017. At St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, Taljan was part of a Wildcats team that won the national championship in 2011 and the Ohio High School Athletic Association state championship in 2011 and 2012.
Killian Riley
Assistant Coach
Killian Riley joined the Yale men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in May 2025.
Prior to Yale, Riley spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Southern Connecticut State University where he specialized in working with goalkeepers. Before joining the Owls, he coached for one season at the University of New Haven.
From 2014-20, Riley served as the head men's soccer coach at Thiel College in Greenville, Pa.
At Thiel, he led the team to their first 3-0 start in program history. He also led his players to holding the team assists record, career assists record, and career shutout record. He had 10 All-PAC Conference Award honorees and 31 All-PAC Honor Roll honorees. He managed all of the operations of the program, wrote detailed practice plans to continue developing players, created a comprehensive recruiting structure to build a bigger and more diverse team, and guided players through their academics by focusing on good study habits.
Riley also spent some time as a professor of health and physical education while at Thiel. He reconstructed the syllabus for the coaching practicum course making it more focused on field experience. He was able to help students develop their coaching philosophy, create training sessions, deliver those training sessions, and understand performance environment.
Riley earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Heidelberg University in 2011 where he was a member of the men’s soccer team. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Ottawa University in 2013 where he served as a graduate assistant coach. He helped guide the team to a KCAC Championship and the NAIA National Tournament during his first year with them.
Dr. Alicja Stannard
Assistant Professor
Dr. Alicja Stannard joined HPX department in the Fall of 2023. She is an assistant professor and HPX Internship Coordinator. Dr. Stannard earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Anthropology and Psychology from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Science in Education in Kinesiology and Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from Northern Illinois University, and a PhD in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from Michigan State University.
Dr. Stannard brings a wide range of professional work experience in the field of Exercise Science and Public Health. She is passionate about helping students explore their career interests and working with community partners. Her teaching is focused on the HPX Internship Practicum, Exercise Physiology, and Exercise Science courses. Her research interests are centered around the endurance athletes as well as women’s health, fitness, and performance.
Dr. Stannard is a USA Track and Field Level I certified coach. She earned a certification on the Effective Teaching Practices from the Association of College and University Educators and the American Council on Education. Dr. Stannard holds the Climate Change and Health certification from the School of Public Health from Yale University.
